What we do remotely across Canada

Provinces and cities we serve online

We work with clients in every province and territory except Quebec. Each province has its own tax credits and sales tax rules, and we prepare your return with the provincial forms and benefits that apply where you live on December 31.

Alberta

Our home province, with an office in NE Calgary. Alberta has no provincial sales tax, so businesses charge GST only, and corporations file a separate Alberta corporate return (AT1) along with the federal T2. We serve Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Grande Prairie, Fort McMurray, Airdrie, Cochrane, Okotoks and Chestermere.

British Columbia

BC businesses may need to register for both GST and BC PST, which is administered separately by the province. We claim BC credits such as the BC renter’s tax credit and file on time so benefits like the BC family benefit, which are based on your return, keep arriving. Clients in Vancouver, Surrey, Burnaby, Richmond, Coquitlam, Abbotsford, Langley, Kelowna, Kamloops, Victoria, Nanaimo and Prince George work with us online.

Ontario

Ontario uses the HST, and the Ontario Trillium Benefit (Ontario sales tax credit, energy and property tax credit, and northern Ontario energy credit) is applied for on your personal return, so it is easy to miss. Ontario corporate tax is filed as part of the federal T2. We serve clients in Toronto, Brampton, Mississauga, Ottawa, Hamilton, London, Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, Windsor, Markham, Vaughan, Oakville, Milton, Barrie, Guelph and Oshawa.

Saskatchewan

Saskatchewan businesses charge GST and may also need to register for Saskatchewan PST with the province. We work with families, farmers, trades and small businesses in Saskatoon, Regina, Prince Albert, Moose Jaw, Swift Current, Yorkton, North Battleford and Lloydminster.

Manitoba

Manitoba has its own retail sales tax alongside the GST, and provincial credits are claimed on your personal return. We serve clients in Winnipeg, Brandon, Steinbach, Winkler, Portage la Prairie, Selkirk and Thompson.

Atlantic Canada

New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland and Labrador all use the HST, and each has its own provincial credits and benefits. We work with clients in Halifax, Dartmouth, Sydney and Truro (Nova Scotia); Moncton, Saint John, Fredericton and Dieppe (New Brunswick); Charlottetown and Summerside (PEI); and St. John’s, Mount Pearl, Corner Brook and Gander (Newfoundland and Labrador).

Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut

The territories have no territorial sales tax, so businesses charge GST only. Residents may also qualify for the northern residents deductions. We help clients in Whitehorse, Yellowknife, Hay River, Inuvik and Iqaluit.

Moving between provinces?

If you moved during the year, you file as a resident of the province you lived in on December 31. If you sell to customers in other provinces, you may need to charge HST or register for provincial sales tax there. We sort out both.

How online tax filing works

  1. Book a call: tell us about your situation and get a clear fee quote before we start.
  2. Send your documents: email your slips, receipts and statements.
  3. We authorize and prepare: with your permission we access your CRA records, so slips aren’t missed, and prepare your return.
  4. Review and e-sign: we walk you through the return by phone or video before you sign electronically.
  5. We e-file: your return goes to the CRA, and you get a copy plus your Notice of Assessment when it arrives.

Yes. We file personal and business tax returns for clients in every province and territory except Quebec, completely online. Your return includes the correct provincial or territorial tax and credits for where you lived on December 31.

Do you prepare Quebec tax returns?

No. Quebec residents file a separate provincial return with Revenu Québec, and we don’t prepare Quebec returns. We serve every other province and territory.

How do I send my documents?

You can email your slips, receipts and statements. With your authorization, we can also download your tax slips directly from the CRA, so nothing is missed.

How do I sign my tax return remotely?

We send your return for review and electronic signature. Once you approve it, we e-file it with the CRA.

Can you handle corporate taxes for a company outside Alberta?

How much does online tax filing cost?

It depends on your situation. We quote your fee before we start, after a short call about your income sources and needs.
